MENTAL HEALTH I
In a Hyperconnected World
The advent of the internet, phone, messenger and social media has created an environment where people can create a connection to others through messaging, status views and public discussions.
This hyperconnected world creates communication width (access to a lot of information and content) at the expense of communication depth (lacks personalized insight).
The lack of communication depth becomes insidious at the time of crises. At that point, abundant information and lack of personalization further amplify the feeling of being alone. For some, this has resulted in suicide or decisions with negative longterm impact.
Providing a safe space for people to talk will be beneficial in addressing some mental and emotional crisis that most people go through. Sometimes, all one needs is a listening ear.
How does Keka™ come in?
We are looking to provide a pseudonymous peer-to-peer community where anybody in need of a listening ear is paired up with someone willing to listen with empathy and provide personal advice if needed.
The platform is pseudonymous to allow people to express themselves freely.
How does it work?
The platform is designed to cater for sincere, honest people truly seeking help.
To ensure that the people in the community are in line with the desired aim, individual verification will be done.
Anybody in the community looking for someone to talk to will be paired with someone available to listen.
How does one participate?
Before the KEKA software interface is built, the community will start on Wire. Wire is chosen for its inbuilt privacy and security feature.
I'm on Wire, search for @k3ka or visit WIRE APP
To join the community, follow these steps.
